Now that the holidays are over you might be wondering what else is there left to do during this dreary winter. But you’re in New York, baby! There is always a ton of things to do, even in anti-climatic January. Here are some of the coolest events happening in NYC this month.

El Museo del Barrio’s Three Kings Parade | January 6, 2020
The Christmas season gets a festive send off with El Museo del Barrio’s 43rd annual Three Kings Parade. The party is on the street and in the museum, starting at 11 a.m. And did I mention there’s going to be LIVE CAMELS?

Glowing Seesaws on Broadway | January 6th – 31st, 2020
Channel your inner child as you play on the seesaws installed by the Garment District Alliance on Broadway between West 37th and 38th Streets. Don’t expect the seesaws from your childhood though; these seesaws give off both light and sound!

Jamaica | January 11th, 2020
While you may not be able to make it to the actual island of Jamaica this winter, for one night only you can let this Broadway classic transport you to a colorful Caribbean village that’s trying to defend itself from American commercialism.

Arcadia Earth AR Exhibition | Now until January 14th, 2020
Not going to lie, with prices starting at $27, this isn’t the most budget-friendly activity on this list, but it’s an augmented reality exhibit! How often do you get to do that? Not only will you be immersed in underwater worlds and fantasy lands, you’ll also learn what lifestyle changes you can make to help the planet.

Lunar New Year Exhibition at Flushing Town Hall | January 17th – February 16th, 2020
Lunar New Year parades are a must-see, but so is this exhibition being put on by the Flushing Town Hall. Called “A Good Beginning, Here”, eight diaspora artists from China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, have created pieces that reflect on their relationships to their roots.

Balkan Festival | January 17th – 18th, 2020
The Zlatne Uste Golden Festival is another chance for you to take a getaway this winter without leaving the city. During this two-day festival, enjoy Balkan music, food, art, and dancing. This annual event draws thousands, so it’s one not to miss.

Brooklyn Podcast Festival | January 22nd – 26th, 2020
A chance to see some of your favorite podcast producers in person and maybe discover a few new faves? Need I say more?

Brooklyn Israel Film Festival | January 23rd, 25th, and 26th, 2020
Over the course of a weekend, see four Israeli filmmakers’ take on life. Films include “Born in Jerusalem and Still Alive,” “Shoelaces,” and “Shooting Life.”

Grupo Rebolu Dance Workshop | January 25th, 2020
Learn how to cumbia, puya, mapale, and bullerengue to the Afro-Colombian music of Grupo Rebolu. Following the workshop, join the group for a dance party at the Flushing Town Hall.

Nutcracker Rouge | January 26th, 2020
